The House of Dance (HOD) Company is the official performing group of the House of Dance. Membership in the HOD Company is by invitation only. In order to be in the HOD Company, one has to be involved with the House of Dance either as a teacher or as an advanced student.
Some of the company members have had the privilege of training under Mr. Masashi Mishiro and Ms. Kumiko Sakamoto of the Masashi Action Machine (MAM) of Nagoya, Japan. Mr. Mishiro, lead dancer and co-choreographer of MAM is a faculty member of the Jazz Dance World Congress (JDWC) based in Chicago, USA. Other guest trainers include Ms. Julie Alagde, Jun Saagundo of the Chameleon Dance Theater, Marion Ignacio of STEPS in Makati, Peter Alcedo, faculty at Powerdance and Director of DLSU's Dance Company, Jerome Dimalanta of the UP Streetdance Club, Lalaine Juarez Perena of the UP Pep Squad, Ms. Anamarie Aragon-Quirino of the Julie Borromeo Performing Arts Foundation, Ms. Elena Laniog of the UP Dance Compnay, Mr. Rhosam Prudenciado of Airdance, and Mr. Sherwin Casepe of G-Force. In August 2007, Sherwin Casepe and Rosie Anne Pajela participated in the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago, Illinois.
The HOD Company has performed for several outreach activities including a fund-raising concert with the students of the Sol Fernandez School of Dance in Iloilo City for the benefit of children with cancer from poor and marginalized families in the province. It also performed and supported BEAT, a fund raiser for Project Brave Kids that help indigent children-patients in hospitals. On July 12, 2008, the House of Dance Company, along with the HOD students shall mount a concert at Teatro Marikina for the benefit of the 'special' children at the Sacred Heart Center, Fairview. In January 2009, it mounted a concert for the benefit of The Smile Train (for children suffering from hairlip), for KKK (an organization hellping poor children with cancer), and for physically and mentally challenged children from the urban poor. The Company continues to perform for the benefit of other groups other than its apostolates.
In July 2009, the House of Dance was a finalist in the 2009 Jazz Dance World Congress, and the only representative competitor from the Philippines and Asia. The dance team attended classes conducted by Nan GIordano, Ray Leeper, Joe Tremaine, Frank Hatchett, Liz Imperio, Masashi Mishiro and many more distinguished list of mentors in the recently concluded JDWC. Last January 27, 2008, the House of Dance Company performed as the sole Philippine representative to the Nagoya (Japan) International Jazz Dance Showcase upon the invitation of the Nagoya City Council. Renowned dance companies from Russia, Japan and Taiwan performed in the same dance showcase. Apart from these performances, the House of Dance Company has been invited to grace several events in the metropolis. These include guestings in the World Heart Day celebrations in October 30, 2007; the Fuzed 6, concert of the UP Streetdance Club at Crossroads 77; Dance Caravan 2008 in honor of World Dance Day last April 27 at the Liwasang Aurora, QC Memorial Circle; at the Philippine International Convention Center for the Annual Officers’ Meeting of Banco de Oro; the Marian Rally held in December 2005 at SM Fairview Open Grounds, and in SAMURAI at the Meralco Theater in May 2005 with the Masashi Action Machine.
